ELLIS PETERS is a pseudonym for Edith Pargeter, author of many books under her own name. The receipient of the C.W.A. Silver Dagger Award, she was also well known as a translator of poetry and prose from the Czech. She made her home in Shropshire, England before she died in 1995.

Everyone is so friendly--particularly the charming elderly gentIeman who shares his first-class railway carriage with them part of the way.
