Sicily, early 1900s. The Commissioner Cesare Mori is the head of a special squad of police who fights by any means the gangs of criminals, fugitives and gangsters. His wife Angelina, a woman from the fragile and tormented character is able to support him as well as the little Saro, their beloved adopted son, with whom is able to express its most loving and generous temper. His vigorous fight against the mafia and banditry led him to be appointed in 1924 by Mussolini Prefect of Palermo. When he is retired, he was subsequently elected Senator of the Kingdom
