The Vines of Ferrara

JACKET NOTES:  Andrea Perkins discovers that the evil at the castle in Ferrara did not die with the original owner, Lucrezia Borgia. The sprawling stone building, which had been built as a summer retreat for Lucrezia, now belonged with its vineyards to Count Geoffredo Gonzaga. Andrea, an art expert from Boston, is at the castle to repair a crumbling fresco and retouch a set of fabulous fifteenth-century tarocchi -tarot cards. As Geoffredo becomes more and more enamored with Andrea, the vengeance of the past and the horrifying reality of the present intermingle.
The first victim is a young woman, a temporary servant, whose death was followed by other tragedies. That night there was to be a reception for Geoffredo's younger brother Carlo, a successful artist from New York. He had brought with him an entourage, which included his sexy little stepdaughter and his dead wife's wealthy parents. And an uninvited and unwelcome guest was Geoffredo's jealous mistress from Florence. During the evening a killer struck again. Only Andrea would have a chance to face an enemy bent on murder. Dangerous currents of desire and hate swirl about her until she is freed at last by a deadly surprise.
